Goodnight friends! Blazing hot again, a forceful, almost concussive oven warmth. Not quite as hot by the numbers at only 31°c, but a few clouds are beginning to uncoil against the pale blue sky and there’s a sweltering hint of humidity, the taste of stone just catching my tongue when the breeze changes. Sparkle of hoverflies, wild grass like waves of green fire. Days astonishing long and bright, taking a walk around 7 PM to avoid the most intense heat was like a stroll at midday a few weeks ago.
No judo today, wary of the intense heat and wanting to be prepared for the upcoming queer camping weekend where I’ll be trying to volunteer and lead activity sessions. Chatting with friends, drawing, doing a few small printing and admin tasks for the camp – a busy but not over-burdened day of several small activities.
May we find a sense of agency and purpose in our lives today!
