Goodnight friends! The most thoroughly Autumnal-feeling day of the year so far. A grey, cold and drizzly morning with long hours of hazy silent rain. The sky steadily cleared out hour by hour after midday, thick dark cumulus pillars slowly splitting and crumbling, leaving the late afternoon sky almost totally clear. The day never much warmer than 12°c, stirred by a faint but frigid mineral-tasting breeze. Brilliant mixture of flickering and flashing colours in the swaying branches.
Painful morning, damp chill reaching into my joints, making everything feel raw and wrenched. Thoughts scattered at first too, but as I gradually got myself together things grew easier by degrees as I adjusted and my body warmed up. Did some stretches, a little household admin, and spent the evening decompressing and amd cooking and planning out a few future ideas with my girlfriend.
May we find a sense of ambition and purpose in our lives today!
