Goodnight friends! Warmer and more stuffy feeling, in the low 20°s, a fsirly bright morning that slowly clouded over and swelled dark and heavy. Thick, sour smell of decay even as the ground began to dry out. Big stumbling bees crawling all over the buddleja again, and a dozy, spectacular hornet mimic hover fly, bright glossy chestnut and yellow, long as a finger joint with huge caramel eyes on a hemisphere head. A far-off rumbling resumed though, and late afternoon broke with a storm that began long heavy hours of rainfall. In the still-long evening the light was a dim, smoky amber, accompanied by the bonfire hiss and crackle of hard rain falling into deep puddles.

Slept somewhat better, and growing accustomed again to the persistent discomfort of damp weather. Needing to rest fairly often but feeling generally more active and engaged, quite a bit of drawing and a little writing, progress with a few small household tasks.

May we find a sense of focus and purpose in our lives today!
