Goodnight friends! Brittle, sun-splashed start, long gap-toothed silhouettes streaming out from the gravestones, about 12°c still but feeling far gentler without a sharp needing wind sweeping in. Unusual sighting of a Eurasian jay, warm peachy buff breast, black-jowled face and brilliant electric blue flashes of its epaulettes. The still bright air rang with harsh, brief high screams of a shouting match against the percussive rattles of a magpie. Creamy-white spherocal puffballs slowly reshaped into rough geodesic angles by the patient gouging of slugs. Slowly clouds gathered up and darkened over the shrinking afternoon.

A more limber and energetic-feeling start, taking a walk around midday when the sky was dazzling and empty. As the pressure dropped and grey clouds swept in waves of crushing pain swept over my limbs and most of my plans for tge day were curtailed, a winded kind of nausea pinning me in place. Rallied a little and did some drawing in the evening, but everything still very slow.

May we find and savour moments of unexpected wonder and delight today!
