Goodnight friends! A break from the rain, and about 20°c, clammy and overcast in fits and starts, but mostly at least partly clear between dense banks of dark, crumpled clouds. Thick ripe scent of decomposing leaf litter, but warm enough and the earth still thirsty enough that the ground is already drying out again. Holly berries taking on their full scarlet hue, yellow lace of lady’s bedstraw giving way to pale pinhead seeds.

Sleep a fluctuating struggle still, deep aches flaring and shoving me up into dizzy half-wakefulness. A groggy start, and my mind reaching for adaptations to manage spikes of pain, tunnels of narrow focus, colourless drifting periods of disassociation. I did manage a varied, if abbreviated, menu of activity at least – a short walk, some drawing, some more household tasks, mostly just trying to hold steady, slowing the gradual collapse into mild chaos.

May we find a sense of acceptance and patience in our lives today!
