Goodnight friends! 35°c and sweltering, sticky pinpricks of sweat across my back after less than a minute out in the sun, everything seeming to radiate heat – stone, concrete, wood, leaves, the brittle copper stalks of grass, all warm to the touch, warmth welling up in my chest with every breath. Obsidian gleam of blackberries, stark, almost spiky bright white puffballs of hawksbeard seeds. More cloud cover, so sometimes we had periods of surprisingly soft, dull light, making the temperature seem sometimes dreamlike.

A lingering, leaden feeling, though muscle pains are diffusing okay, and something that feels like a sudden minor cold snapped over me today, too – I could have caught something, or it could be a malaise-induced immune stress reaction. Resting as much as possible in either case. A short walk, dodging for the shade beneath trees wherever possible, and some small scratchy bits of writing and drawing.

May we find ways to challenge, interrogate and break down old assumptions today!
