Goodnight friends! A warm, bright start with pale stripes and stipples of cloud, a little cooler and more breezy than yesterday. Aches in my joints and a slight humid fizz in the air, but a very fine and pretty day for the anniversary outing my girlfriend and I went on. We took a meandering track through a small patch of lush old-growth woodland edged with clumps of bright pink campion. Ferns and bluebells, wild garlic and sedges lined the path. Some spectacular trees stood in the parkland around, too, including a velvety-leafed whitebeam with white flowers cascading down like a wedding dress. We went out for lunch afterward, and dozed through part of the afternoon together. The forecast and the humming feel in the atmosphere didn’t lie, and as we gradually woke up again drizzle began shyly tapping at the glass, gradually thickening into a slow, earnest and earthy rain.

Despite some significant pain and fatigue a sweet and happy day, getting to very intentionally go on an outing and take our time together, be active and rest together.

May we find genuine connection and thoughtful communication today!
