Goodnight friends! Wind settled down and last night’s grey sky stuck around like glue, dim and greasy and low, a constant fitful tap and prickle of rain mumbling on for most of the day. Buttercups and celandines all squeezed shut against the rain, but cherry and plum blossoms, and the new white flowers on hawthorns and garlic mustard were all open and simply sparkling with water.
I felt at first like I was recovering some energy but I felt increasingly squashed and bleary as the wet afternoon wore on, the aches in my joints boiling up, co-opting more and more of my attention. Fortunately my girlfriend was able to visit for a few gentle afternoon hours, and zi had some support for doing low-key activities. We talked and pickled magnolia tepals together.
May we find a spark of excitement and creativity in our lives today!
