Goodnight friends! Sky busy and wind bustling. A cool overcast start and a burst of fairly heavy rain for a few hours early in the day, but the afternoon swiftly cleared. Temperature rose rapidly from around 12°c to about 18°, rags of scattering cloud lit up fierce and firey white by the sun. Meadow peas and fox-and-cubs aflame in the sparkling grass, electric bright blue wire of a drifting bluet damselfly bouncing among them.

Resting up, packing and preparing for my trip to the coast with my girlfriend tomorrow. I felt a little torn about whether to go to judo – this is the third week off in a row. I am missing the exercise and the particualr cognitive challenge it brings, but it’s not like I haven’t been fairly active during these weeks, and I don’t want to mar the beginning of the holiday with extra layers of fatigue and malaise.

May we grant each other, and ourselves, patience, grace and care today!
