Goodnight friends! Quite steady temperatures again, about 21°c. Sky clearer in the morning, with broad ribbons of blue that were gradually pared down by gathering clouds and swelling, soporific humidity. Early afternoon, before the clammy overcast weight fully settled in was might and pleasant. Rising and falling grasshopper buzz, raucous shrieks of parakeets and harsh crow caws. Orange and brown flickering wings of gatekeepers and European commas. Grass dry and sharp amd crackly, hems of my trousers speckled all over with the hard, sticky little velcro balls of catchweed bedstraw seeds. Early evening brought quick, silent bursts of hazy drizzle, petering out into prickles of cool condensation.
Bleary from poor sleep to start, but after gradually waking up, a short walk and some stretches on the grass really helped re-enliven me. Back to judo, where it felt like half the battle was with the close, muggy atmosphere. Advancing with my new stripe to a far more technical group of learners, everything feeling new and confusing again.
