Goodnight friends! Around 17°c most of the day, lightly overcast but the light was clear and even again. Humid and breathless indoors, enlivened by a tugging, blustery wind. Went for a slow walk with my girlfriend and her dog in the park around midday. Towering banks of ferns, strutting silver-naped jackdaws and tiny white stars of heath bedstraw amid the rabbit- and cattle-shorn meadows, gorse flowers all turned to parchment seedpods. Spectacular spotted longhorn beetles, butterflies and at least a half-dozen species of bumblebee all swarming around the flowering blackberry thickets. Wind slackened in the late afternoon, and curtains of near-silent drizzle shrouded the dim lavender evening.
Body feels improved but energy still wavering, feeling strong and able to sustain myself at first today, but deflated quickly as the pressure dropped. Little bits of writing and drawing in the afternoon, but mostly just draping myself on the sofa, making as much space as possible for rest.
May we find renewed clarity and purpose in our lives today!

Photo of a patchily overcast pale sky above a wild flat meadow cropped short by grazing and bordered by dark windblown trees, there are wide streaks of bright pointilist scarlet and smoky purple standing out vividly against the grass, caused by swathes of sorrel and Yorkshire fog grass.
