Goodnight friends! Warmer again, with weather flipping repeatedly and with amazing rapidly, gloom giving way to a brilliant empty azure sky – which was then smothered again by clouds that darkened into an hour of downpour, and the pattern more or less repeated over the late afternoon and evening, when pastel smears of peach and apricot hues stained the gathering clouds. Rhododendrons have reacted to the unseasonable warmth with an experimental late flowering of icy white flowers leoparded with golden spots, and there are a few daisies and dog-violets popping up among the grass along with the yellow parasols of fieldcap mushrooms.
Significant but not unmanageable malaise and exertion, along with smouldering pain from the damp, leading to a very heavy and inactive rest day. Everything slow and tentative, gingerly moving from bed to sofa mainly, with a very abbreviated afternoon walk.
May we find moments of calm stillness and contentment today!
