Goodnight friends! Cooler, below 18°c mostly, but feeling warmer and fresher with much more open skies for most of the day, though not without broad ominous sweeps of slate-dark cumulus. Pale scent of buddleja and honeysuckle and drying grass on a soft and murmuring sun-warmed breeze. Hunched s-curved spine of a russet-brindled grey squirrel gnawing a marble-sized wild apple on a gravestone. Jade and gold light glitter through the linden canopies, more and more various mushrooms spring up from the matted remains of high summer’s tall grasses.
Body feeling energised and good in the drier air, and after stretching and better sleep yesterday. I had a very restful day, then in the evening judo coaches asked people to come in more than once this week, trying to get folks ready to retest and recertify our grades soon with a new association. I went in tonight but tried to keep things very light – stayed out of sparring amd resistance work, just doing drills and uchikomi. My optimistic goal is to be able to go in later in the week and work light again, but I’m saying this on a pretty good day I’ll stay cautious and take things as they come.
