Goodnight friends! A slightly cooler, much more grey and more humid day. Wind largely quieted and slowly-roiling grey clouds slid gradually by overhead. Occasional slashes of blue opening up and casting brief lancing sunbeams across the tall meadows, dun swaying yellow transmuted briefly back to gold. Orange and brown gatekeepers flit between clumps of bright yellow ragwort, sun-darkened leaves in the hedgerows withering at the edges and chewed to lace by caterpillars and blistered by gall mites.
Thick sweaty air and changing pressure didn’t help my still-temperamental sleep, so I had a slow start. A long, slow gentle walk around the churchyard after lunch helped wake me up, but I was fsirly slow all day. Preparing materials and doing some household jobs to tidy the place up for TTRPG group tomorrow, some writing, some printing, some vacuuming to help the place feel a little more presentable.
May we find a sense of stability, order and balance in our lives today!

Photo of a stem of firey orange crocosmia flowers, alternating buds arranged on a long zigzag spike, the smallest at the tip still tight-packed and pale yellow, while those ar the base are in full vivid bloom, trumpets that split into broad-petalled hexafoils.
