Goodnight friends! Much brighter and more even, summery-feeling weather today, some sweet tinny buzz of grasshoppers continuing, if a little hushed, despite the churchyard landscapers mowing down broad swathes of tall, golden, vetch-plaited grass. Clouds are white and scattered, stippled by warm, sweet breezes. Fresh growth in the beech hedges, new chartreuse foliage neon-luminous against leaves weatherbeaten all summer towards a smoky grey-green.
Recovering as best I can today, as usual. Dragging myself slowly and carefully through a heavy general malaise and sense of fatigue, fortunately no big tender muscles, just the usual overall leaden feeling – I think exacerbated both by some deconditioning and by the aftermath of going to the optician. Evening at my girlfriend’s place, her dog as usual insistently licking my knee. Dinner with an unusual but delicious pear, soy and nori slaw as the summer of slaw continues.
May we find renewed confidence in our ability to learn and grow today!
