Goodnight friends! 24°c in the full glare of sun-washed afternoon, rows of tulips seeming inflated by the warmth like hot air balloons. First magnolias already wilting, leathery petals littering the grass. Cowslips on long drooping calyxes, a dense wall of fragrant cherry-laurel spikes, their sheer number as well as their scent almost overpowering. Pulsing, dancing whirls of tiny flies by the hundred, each mote a living, golden spark. Sycamore-maples putting out neatly bundled, trailing green florets.

A lot of rest today, trying to be mindful of the alarms my body is sending me. Mostly stayed in bed until late afternoon, letting the rare heat of the day soak in. Got up for a short walk and relaxed dinner date with my girlfriend, hopefully striking a balance of recuperation with keeping systems ticking over as best I can.

May we find memories and principles to bring us steadiness and determination today!
