Goodnight friends! Air thick and clammy with a pale haziness, stained green by gouting verdant vegetation. The whole day has a building, squeezing drumroll feel, occasional single raindrops pricking my scalp. The eldest mallards are nearly fully fledged, 4/5 scale copies of their parents, most distinguishable now by plaintive peeping cries and a tendency to suddenly burst into brief bursts of plashing rubber-band speed if startled.

Muscles twanging and thrumming a little from exercising yesterday, and left sluggish by the damp weather. Just keeping things ticking over as best as I can mainly, going slow, making sure I eat and drink and stretch.

May we accept our grief and give it the time it needs today and let it clarify us, informing our anger and determination!
