Goodnight friends! Wind-clawed sky slowly opening up over the day, another in a changeable span that may cause sharper pangs of pain, but is still a relief compared to endless, changeless dour wet winter days that blur together into one long damp smear. Birds and squirrels active in the relative warmth. Cormorants basking in their threadbare clerical black, the blinding mirror-white of a little egret among the reeds, wild yellow stare of a tufted duck near the shore, its white flanks undulating dimly when it dived beneath the muddy water.
A bit more energy, slowly gathered up through the day as the atmosphere shifted. Felt like a long, long time since I’d managed do get our for a real long walk, but I think that’s partly just due to the frayed elasticity of pandemic time on top of grey winter time on top illness time, all of them warped and inconstant in their own ways.
May we find a sense of peace and clarity in our goals and plans today!
