Goodnight friends! A little spike in temperature, up to 18°c, air thick with soupy humidity. Patchy light rain all through the morning and afternoon, easing slightly, but when thin streaks of blue began to open up around 5 PM the sun only magnified the sweaty breathless feeling. Rapid swell of mushroom caps among the sodden moss and pearl-strung grass, mostly white puffballs and meadow mushrooms.

Woke up in baffling, memory-obliterating pain feeling like a fused lump of slag, a combination of exercising yesterday and the encroaching cold and damp. Fortunately I could remember who I was and what was happening within a few minutes, and the paralysis-like sensation didn’t last much longer. Careful resting and decompressing was the order of the day, moving and thinking only slowly came onto the table.

May we find rest and healing today!

Image ID: Photo of an ivory mushroom cap, possibly a common puffball, covered in tiny rubbery spikes with a somewhat cloven-hoof like shape. A large deep chunk has been taken out of its surface to reveal white flesh within, the edges of the divot bearing chisel-like grooves suggesting the culprit is a squirrel.
