Goodnight friends! Still a heavy, toothachey grey but moments of shimmering silver in the pale sky and a less breathless, confining heaviness to the air. All of a sudden sycamores are shedding reams of huge saffron-coloured dinnerplate leaves, whole areas of scrubby woodland becoming festivals or gilded palaces of whispering gold.

Felt a little more active today, but only in brief disorganised stretches of nervous, unfinished activity, muscle and thought both easily exhausted. Trying to stay as gentle and curious – asking rather than deciding what I can do next – with my energy levels as I can, not wanting to push on too hard in a season where everything still feels painful and uncertain.

May we find space and time today to appreciate and cherish the delicate, easily missed beauty of the everyday!
