Goodnight friends! Feeling more of an ambient chill soaking into the ground day by day. Around 10°c and still flat, grimy grey skies that slowly dissolved into a kind of smoky maroon as night fell, stained by the sulphur glow of lampposts. Even in the tepid half light hedges of privet and photinia are splashes of firey colour, cascading bouquets of mushrooms spill from the black earth beneath bushes.

A recovery day as usual, everything going a little slowly in the cold and damp. Dragging myself around but still, by late afternoon at least, able to get up and slowly moving. Over to my girlfriend’s place for dinner and an leisurely evening with some TV, idle talk about our plans for next year and her dog squirming in between us to lay her chin on my knee.

May we find moments of wonder and gratitude for the world and people around us today!
