Goodnight friends! As clear and sparse a sky today as yesterday was flatly overcast – snow-crowned hedges melded into the opaque sky, now everything is limned with almost painful clarity. Each still-clinging leaf a candle flame, every blade of grass breaking through the dappling broken crust of snow has a keen silver edge. Just as cold though, never shifting mych from freezing. A daylight golden glitter on the snappy, thin crust of ice frozen over the much thinner patches of surviving snow, a brief sugary crunch with each footfall.
Expected and not too debilitating extra layer of fatigue and exhaustion, a little twinging and seizing in my back from a week’s slight deconditioning and loss of limberness. Mostly a very slow and relaxed day, then a dinner date with my girlfriend, feeling like I’m back into the flow of daily life.
May we find, share and build up spaces of solace and gentleness in our lives today!
