Goodnight friends! 20°c, feeling warmer and stuffier as the humid, clouded-over portion of the day came on faster and more dramatically. The clouds lowered and gathered and swelled all morning. A whisper of a light shower persisted and swelled over a few midday hours into a rippling downpour, raising a thick, pleasantly sour scent of earth and growth. Afterwards the sky was an eerily still, empty pale blue. Puddles shone, full of little spent brown flowerheads. Sun poured down through overflowing, gleaming linden canopies, casting marbled swirls of white-gold light and indigo shadow across dark brick walls.
A sedate recovery day, some very heavy pressure-pain on top of nauseous fatigue at first, gradually easing with painkillers and opening skies. Slow rise out of foggy distress into the comfortable pattern of days, my girlfriend coming over for our regular dinner date.
