Goodnight friends! Grimy pale grey start with spates of muttering rain, but a rising wind opened up the sky, and afternoon gained a midsummer brilliance – not quite as hot as yesterday but the feeling is far more summery and sweet. Tattered hogweed and low-lying goutweed add their umbrel flowers to the forest of white parasols rising up among grass and thistle. Glimpse of a striped grebe chick far out on the water, begging for a ride on its parent’s back. Slender scythe-wing silhouettes of swallows or martins high above, rolling on the warm air.
Feeling stronger again today, head still aching and stuffed with cotton wool, but the feverish feeling is growing more diffuse and similar to my regular sense of exhaustion. I already ovrdid things a bit in my enthusiasm, I’ve stayed up late drawing, luxuriating in being able to.
May we find joy and fulfillment in taking care of each other as best we can today!
