Goodnight friends! Forecast reckons a cooler end to the week, but today was another long simmer of gilt-edged clouds and blanched watery blue. It’s still nearly 20°c now in the depths of the night. Shadows were deep, severe black and inky-dense, voids cut out by the force of the brow-beating sun. Meadows shot through by more and more threads of dry brittle gold.
Long slow recovery up until mid-afternoon, pain and exhaustion leavened a little by the reptile luxury of doing nothing but lie around drinking water and watching bars of light creep through slitted blinds as the sun rose and rose. Slowly, ploddingly prepped some food once I got my legs under me, then had a gentle dinner date with my girlfriend.
May we find a sense of unhurried curiosity and exploration in our lives today!
