Goodnight friends! A stunning start again, the sky all blue and froth, clouds spun out into fine swooping threads, twisting and looping on themselves, ghostly spoor tracing the paths of warm bustling gusts. About 25°c out for most of the day, a dry concussive warmth that brings a paradoxical excitement and a sense of slothful ease. The long electric blue bodies and whirring, helicoptering brown quatrefoil wings of beautiful demoiselles shimmered over the water. Wood avens and even burnished buttercups seem to droop a little under the sheer enveloping press of heat. Great crested grebes seem to be nesting, and in an unusually exposed spot, which will be exciting if they decide to stay there.

Settling back into my regular way of life more or less, although the sudden stark onset of summer makes everything feel very novel. Very tempting to spend all my limited energy on being outside and moving and looking at things, so working on setting small concrete goals for myself to channel some of my stamina back into creative work.

May we break out of unhelpful routines and build foundations of practise and thinking that support our growth today!
