Goodnight friends! An almost 20°c drop in temperature, down from nipping at the heels of 40. The sky is a pale, shifting watered silk grey, an intermittent clammy, prickly sense of incipient rain that never quite came to pass. Creeping thistle and vetch thick with the brassy hum of hefty black bumble bees, and a clockwork hiss of crickets in the dry grass.
Slept fitfully in the overnight heat, and woke a little stiff and sore from the change in the atmosphere. It ended up being a wonderful day all in all though, revolving around a gentle evening of hosting my girlfriend for dinner.
May we find opportunities to nurture and take care of each other today!
