Goodnight friends! Cold still hard and bitter, but without the leavening syrupy golden light caught in the trees. Today’s sky is a faintly corrugated pale grey, the grass an answering pale grey formed from a fine spray of white frost entrusting each grass stem and clump of feathery moss.

Lingering muscle pains and fatigue, hitting harder thanks to the gloomy, freezing weather. Resting and relaxing a lot, drawing a little. Fortunately another part of the ebb and flow of daily life that the holidays disrupted, setting aside a weeknight for cooking with my girlfriend, has slotted into place again.

May we find a sense of rhythm and nurturing, healthy constancy in our lives today!
