Goodnight friends! Weather continues cool and gloomy, and I’m still feeling a bit battered and sluggish, though definitely improved on yesterday. Still in the slow process of blocking out some regular afternoon creative hours for myself, bit by bit embedding into a habitual daily rhythm.

Toothy hiss of a cold twisty wind past my face, even the crisp white shapes of gulls stumbling and stuttering on the wing. Centimetre by centimetre the swaying green undergrowth of hogweed, dock and garlic mustard rises, wicked sawtoothed nettle peeking through. Mallards leave lingering trails of clear water cutting through growing drifts of water pennywort. House martins, taking advantage of the overcast sky, dive and skim low over the reservoir after insects in indigo daredevil loops.

May we find and embrace opportunities for learning and growth today!
