Goodnight friends! A foggy start, milky grey mist smothering the morning and draping a damp chill across the streets. Cold remained, but slowly a scraping wind picked up, and the afternoon was hard, brittle, honey-bright, grass all heavy and beaded with condensation. Fox encounters for the first time in a while, slouching and springing away from any too close approach with tepid half-wariness.
Third outing for judo, and I’m starting to get the measure of what I need pacing-wise, going slower, stepping to the edge of the mat several times to balance my fatigue. My girlfriend and I both feel enriched enough, despite our post-session aches and panting, that we want to keep trying for a while, see if we can sustain it.
May we find confidence in our ability to recognise our own needs, set boundaries and create spaces of respect and safety today!
