Goodnight friends! Back down to around 5°c and sharp, scraping cold. A pale icy blue sky with long looming fronts of cloud sweeping across from low along the horizon where their edges flared with orange light. Rolling on and thickening hour by brief daylight hour until the night sky was sealed up, a chilly, low-hanging mass of drizzly bruised-plum darkness.
Mixed bag at judo, with a few highlights. A small glow of pride from instructors mentioning I’m starting to show some good natural defensive instincts on the ground. Overall feeling clumsy and stiff, sluggish from the cold and liable to make the kind of small sloppy mistakes that can escalate into a pulled muscle. Already feeling the deep heaviness of fatigue pulling me down.
May we grant grace and compassion to each other and ourselves today!
