Goodnight friends! A gentler blue today, sky softly streaked with pale white strips of diaphanous cloud. Light still heavy and stark, the leopard-spotted darkness beneath the trees velvety black and sharp-edged. Plumes of tufted vetch sprouting among the grass. Sadly for me, happily for the grass, forecasts suggest that after tomorrow we might be in for a good few days of solid rain.

A continuing mild frustration that comes back a lot recently is that for all my gains in stamina and fitness, most days – even in summer when I feel the best – after I’ve taken a walk I usually feel like my batteries are mostly drained, and being social or creative is tough. I love being able to walk short distances, especially in the sun. It always feels novel and joyful, and helps me stay as healthy as I can, but I still want to return to my previous attempts to manage my weekly schedule more thoughtfully and in better detail. I think having more different things in my life would be healthy too.

May we find openness and mutual support today!
