Goodnight friends! Wet and clammy through most of the day, an ice cube dripping down the neck kind of flinching feeling of cold insinuating itself againt my skin. Little buds everywhere, tiny pink-tipped balls of potential. Driving rain in varying mumbling, hissing intensities through much of the afternoon. After dark was drier and curiously warmer, blanketed by a brooding ochre sky.
After many hesitations and nerves the past few days over the tender state of my shoulder I ended up going back to judo. It was an exercise in habit retention, and a first pass at bringing myself into taking deeper and more reflective agency over what exactly I participate in each class, and how. I feel like generally I was pretty successful thanks to the help of my girlfriend and training partner – doing a lot less, and being prepared to bow out or say no at any point.
May we recognise and celebrate our strengths and abilities today!
