Goodnight friends! Swollen bank-busting streams still making walking precarious, even the thick umber water of the reservoir lapping up and over its concrete rim. Shrill, warbling whinnies of horses on a small stable nestled behind the trees, their fields a flooded, churned up impassable morass. A brief respite from rain today, thankfully, and more blue sky than I’ve seen in weeks, even a half-decent impression of a real sunset.
A hangover of mild but all-encompassing bleary fatigue from hosting my sister and sleeping badly again, hours warping and snapping like a worn out elastic band. Muddling through, drawing in bed a bit, definitely been much worse but still not able to resolve this latest bout of insomnia yet.
May we find compassionate patience and forgiveness for ourselves and each other today!
