Goodnight friends! Colder, and with a slight sense of misty remnants still hanging on beneath the trees and in shady hollows. Very still and very grey, occasional calls of crows flat and muted, thin and pallid light without much sense of time and no force to bring into colours. The ground is churned and muddy, but the fresh gleam of water on the grass and the plump sponginess of moss is dissipating a little.

A great sense of relief after days of tentative recuperation. Despite a little lingering dizziness I managed to reach the churchyard without much feeling of exhaustion. Even though I kept the distance pretty short I did go far enough to get among the damp grass and fallen leaves, and ID a fungus I think I haven’t seen before. Most affirming, when I got home I only felt a fairly normal level of malaise, and no fever or chills came on later in the day. I think for now my plan, if I don’t feel worse tomorrow, is attempt to maintain something around this level of activity for a few days and track if my capacity stays steady.

May we find moments of surprise and excitement in our lives today!
