Goodnight friends! Bracketed by a dour morning and twilight of overfamiliar low hanging grey, but a lovely interlude of powdery blue through late afternoon and early evening, clouds briefly scudding swift and silver-chased on a grass-sweet breeze. Bees still clamour musically around the remaining meadow peas and vetch. Haws are coming into their sombre vermillion ripeness, already faint boozy scents hinting at overripe apples in the grass.
Exercise today, and still getting a little stuck in the same recent trap of frustration that I don’t have more stamina, that some element of ephemeral ‘will’ is missing to live up to my best. As ever arbitrary goals and standards are seductive for me – once I found they help with some things, I reflexively keep trying to apply them beyond their usefulness.
May we find patience and an unforcing generous attitude today, foe ourselves and each other!
