Goodnight friends! About 15°c, quiet and dry, with bright flashes that diminished over the day as passing clouds slowed and thickened. Wider variety of mushrooms, fantastical sights among the shrivelling leaves like the honeycomb skirts of red-cracking boletes, pale purple heads of lilac fibrecaps and stout puffballs emerging like inverted white exclamation marks. Lawns beneath commonly-planted bristly scots pines are dotted with the shrapnel of squirrels feeding, large cones reduced to ragged apple core-like fragments, stripped scales all around.
Some delayed onset soreness, awoke with a very tender neck and back along with the regular creaks and aches, but a few slow, very cautious stretches helped release some of the stiff stuck sensations. A little bit of writing and some housekeeping, generally letting myself take it fairly easy.
May we allow delight and indulgence to take their place in our lives today!
