Goodnight friends! Some icy rain overnight, and a hazy start that left a grey film of frozen dew across the grass. Brown fallen leaves became carefully traced monochrome versions of themselves, each rib and vein outlined in silver. The sky again was all hard pale blue distance by the time I got out, colour bleeding away by slow degrees into a white horizon scattered with lavender fishscale clouds.
Still feel like I’m recovering, my neck muscles tender, a foggy feeling of sluggish exhaustion weighing down my limbs and foggying the eedges of my thoughts. Not helped much by a damp night and another chilly day – my sleep schedule has slid off track bit by bit again. Going out for a walk helps me feel a lot better but I feel like I need a few hours to recuperate from the cold. I did end up doing a little food prep and cooking at least, but otherwise feeling very unproductive in a half itchily unsettled, half almost luxurious way.
May we find courage and determination in recognising the struggles and challenges we’ve overcome to be where we are today!
