Goodnight friends! 27°c and slowly more overcast as the day went on. The air tasting baked hard, scents simmered down to an essential dusty greenish sweetness. Meadow foxtail heads grown shaggy, sagging and releasing puffs of seed with every jostle. They’re joined by flights of white plume moths flitting from stem to stem, tiny and pale as grass seeds themselves. Double-flowered red hawthorn coming into bloom, and a stunning double speckled layering of colour above the grass as buttercups shoot up and an understorey of blue thyme-leaved speedwells take up the space beneath. After dark seemingly some whispery speckles of rain, scattered and hard to discern.

Definitely still recovering today. Managed to sleep a bit longer and feeling in better control of my body, but overfull and boneless with fatigue for hours. Still stiff and sore, but far more manageably in general – though my joints felt stiffer and burned more as the day went on and cloud cover thickened.

May we find moments of tranquility and rest today!
