Goodnight friends! Heavy and sore still, perhaps even moreso today as the cold, clammy drizzle hisses on and the sky seems utterly without form, as flat and low and unsympathetically featureless as a bare concrete ceiling. Took a long time to get fully mobile, but at least that gave a silver lining of seeing everything illuminated by a sulphur evening glow of electric light. Each faint tyre groove in the road surface picked out on the rain-polished black tarmac, shining with the faint striated gloss of a vinyl record.
Perhaps unwisely I did a little light exercise – not getting very far, but at least aiming to maintain my body as much as I can for the days to come, and distracting myself from the deeper, more grinding discomfort that feels like it radiates outward from my bones.
May we find moments of respite and tranquility today!
