Goodnight friends! A cloudy, moderate respite from the breathlessly hot midweek, a more muted sky of solid, sedate pale grey cumulus herds drifting across dark blue. The fist thin golden crown hints of ragwort flowers are bursting from their buds, great pom-pon heads of hydrangeas turn from green to pink and lilac as they sway in gardens, the fragrant upturned white bells of sweet mock orange blossoms are opening. Wild grasses become braided and tasseled silver mats as they slump under the lolling weight of their seedheads.
More rest needed for me, cooking yesterday after getting back into the swing of judo left me with a good bit of recovering still to do. Watched some TV, did a bit of drawing, generally pottering along and asking to stay moderate and patient, savouring what I can.
May we open our senses afresh and recognise surprise and freshness all around us today!
