Goodnight friends! A busy day of hectic weather, beginning with a slowly swirling clammy fog. Cleared a little for a while by drizzle, an unusual hush descended as it stubbornly returned and even thickened in the afternoon. As dark began to fall a new, whipping snowfall began. Luckily I’m cushioned so far inland, but wild storms in the channel still stirred up savage, buffeting gusts and a heavier snowfall in a few hours than we had in three days not long ago. Dense flurries of flakes flutter and twist in the orange aureoles of lampposts. Occasional scrapes and wet, muted thumps as hunks of piled snow slip from branches and window ledges.
Back home from a lovely sleepover with a glow of companionship, and even some leftovers. Still some lingering fatigue, and my joint pain swelled to a higher register as the snow started to fall and the temperature dropped back down below zero. Struggled to focus or gather much stamina for the rest of the day, mostly just drifting in and out of a haze of mild dissociation.
May we refresh our sense of awe and wonder at the world around us today!
