Goodnight friends! Around 3°c, and seemingly endless grey rain. It was with me waking, and the sounds seem like they’re follow me into sleep, sometimes whispery silent drizzle, other times a nervous syncopated rattle or a slow, hollow thump thump thump of infrequent heavy droplets. Little fingernail-sized frilled fungi sprout up among the upraised tendril forest of lush, sodden reddish moss sporophytes, spent starbursts of ivy flowers swelling, their caps darkening.

Woke up early for my phone appointment, but apparently my phone signal was too bad to connect quickly so they gave up immediately and rescheduled again. Network coverage has never been great here, and on a very wet and gloomy day it can sometimes be even worse. My new plan is to go to a friend’s (much closer to a signal mast) place for the next arranged date. Left a bit frustrated and lost feeling by the cancellation, and very stiff and sore from the damp, I took a walk with what remained of my stamina and kind of idled through the dazed discomfort for the rest of the day.

May we find a sense of acceptance and clarity in our lives today!
