Goodnight friends! Gloomier again than yesterday, and cooler too, overnight felt positively chilling compared to recent summery weeks. Deep, heavy iron grey lid of cloud with only occasional blue slivers. Afternoon speckling coalescing out of the humidity slowly became loose, noisy showers. Birds, already quieting with the passing of the great flush of mating and fledging, were especially hushed, while squirrels become more visible, leaping and scrabbling along fencetops.

Heavy PEM day, greatly exacerbated by the dour wet weather. A few days ago a study that I think I might have contributed a saliva sample to released its results, finding several distinct genetic markers specifc to people with ME/CFS. Maybe vindication in a way, or perhaps it should feel that way, but for some reason it just makes me feel a little depressed.

May we focus our energy and emotions towards the things we can affect today!
