Goodnight friends! Yesterday’s haze, which was thinner and mostly gone by the time I got out, came in again but as a real, dense mist that clung on until after midday. Trees and building loomed and dissolved like shadows on the fog. The hiss and drone of cars was muted. Damp clung to every strand of spider silk, every tiny hair on a clover leaf, giving the world a thin shell of dimly glinting pewtery grey.

A fairly slow day, I was up early after somewhat disturbed and aching sleep. Got up and took a walk early to catch the morning mist. Repurposed the rest of the day’s energy into hanging out with a friend I hadn’t seen in a few months, caught up and ordered food in. Tired out, but feeling positive.

May we face the world with renewed humility and curiosity today!

Photo of a mist-covered graveyard a church spire and the linden trees around it phantom suggestions receding into the grey haze.

Photo of a chaotic trapeze-tent of threadbare spiderweb hung between grass stems, every strand pearly and drooping with tiny beadlets of water.
