Goodnight friends! Hard, cold brightness through much of the day today, clouds grey but scattered and wind-lashed, harsh cold buffets filling my ears with a hoarse, thin moan. Rattles and squeals from the bare, bony-fingered trees, cymbal-hissing of leaves. Squabbling turmoils of blazing white gulls over the reservoir, where drifted leaves are all pushed into a few great varicoloured mats against banks or sagging branches.
Spent some of my small stock of energy on preparing and waiting for a house viewing that was cancelled last minute, a little aggravating but easy enough to let go of, since I likely wouldn’t have got too much done either way.
May we find a sense of balance and steadiness in our lives today!
