Not such a hard blazing heat as yesterday, scattered clouds and a breeze softening the pressure, but still a perfumed summery day, blue sky washed pale by the sun’s wide aureole. Sounds and business of nesting in all its phases around in the trees, choruses of diminutive peeping and twig-bearing. Eerie, wooly masses of mossy rose galls swell among the bushes.
