Good evening friends! Rain mostly a soft inconstant whisper again, earth slipping and squelching underfoot. Still recognising new plants almost daily, or now just as often re-recognising a plant I first met last Spring, as meadowlands and stream-bank undergrowth thicken and begin to reach up well past my knees. A shivering, tantalising feeling of smallness as I’m embraced by a dense bank of plantlife, as through I can re-become in an instant a tiny inhabitant of the woods, as small as and more lost than the spiders scurrying among the ground elder.

Not much more strength today, but shepherded my reserves more cautiously, aware that the more I have to manage pain, the harder it is to exactly measure my remaining energy. Not letting myself push onward too far into any activity, get lost into flow or enthusiasm, feels a little frustrating, but for now while the weather is unpredictable it’s better not to be far more depleted tomorrow.

May we be ready to learn and grow in a spirit of open-heartedness and earnest humility today!
