Goodnight friends! Simmering, slightly closer heat, even a little warmer too. Another burst of fresh floral exhuberance, from the grand to the miniscule, the kind of profusion that becomes like a chant of greeting and recollection as I walk. Tiny yellow lesser hop trefoil, wood avens tucked against hedgerows and bushy dog-roses, feral fringe cup saxifrages with long, tentacular stems, flame orange blunt-petalled fox-and-cubs, rusty pink beaded spikes of sorrel, golden blazes from three species of buttercups in different corners of the churchyard. Clouds gathered up by slow, stuffy degrees over the day. A brief contrasting drumroll rattle of midnight rain as I prepare for sleep.
A lethargic, drained feeling from socialising yesterday. Picking away at little bits of tasks and projects in a way that still feels like it has the potential to slowly sum up to progress. A long slow walk after lunch and stretches on the grass.
May we discover ways to build joyful connection with our bodies today!
