Goodnight friends! A more staid and dull start but giving way by degrees to the same streaming pin-sharp shadows, the same blue sky blanched by the dazzling sun. Hawthorn flowers turn pink then brown as they fade and wither, crumpled-linen blackberry blooms. Vast banks of flowers with thousands of oxeye daisies, broad corrugated dock foliage, plump-leafed stems of bugloss, many-rayed starburst heads of clover rising from mats of lush leaves.

More tired and sore than yesterday, too eager to walk this morning and maybe too enthusiastic to start stretching again yesterday. A mild warning not to get so overeager to plan my routine based on where I want to get to or feel I ‘should be’, rather than where I am.

May we find ourselves surrounded by kindness and compassion and sharing the same with others today!
